Michelin North America has launched a new pre-cure retread for mixed-use fleets and owner-operators with on-/off-road applications.

The Michelin XZY3 pre-mold retread was described as an “all-position tread designed to deliver exceptional wear and durability in on-/off-road use, offering a retread that extends the performance of the popular new tire tread design throughout the casing life.”

“Retreading is an excellent way for fleets to lower their cost of operation,” said Ted Becker, MNA vice president of truck tire marketing. “The mixed-use application can make retreading challenging to incorporate, because not every retread can perform in a difficult on-/off-road environment. The XZY3 retread answers that call to provide application-specific features that promote long casing and tread life.”

The XZY3 tread features a chip/cut resistant compound, stone ejectors, and a four-rib design and pattern that can deliver traction in soft soil and mud.

The retread is available in eight sizes: 210, 220, 230, 240, 250, 270, 280 and 290/345. The 290/345 size incorporates a winged tread design into the tread blocks for additional shoulder adhesion in high-scrub applications.
