Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. Europe Ltd. has appointed Peter McNally as general manager of its European Technical Centre at the company’s European headquarters in Melksham, U.K., effective immediately.
The appointment follows the move of former ETC head Gavin Edwards to Cooper’s Asia Technical Center.
McNally has been leading the motorcycle technical division of Cooper’s Avon brand, as product and design manager, since 2005. Also among McNally’s initial roles will be overseeing the certification of Cooper’s new plant in Serbia, acquired and opened last month, and the beginning of production there.
McNally joined Cooper Tire in 1987 as a tire technician in the Avon Racing division. Shortly after, he became a tire design engineer for motorcycle, rally cars, V6 Eurocars, hot rod, historic F1 and other applications. He was promoted to technical group leader of motorcycle road tires in 1997 and was named product and design manager in 2005.
