Tire Discounters Cutting Ribbon on New HQ

Southern Ohio tire giant Tire Discounters is cutting the ribbon on its new corporate headquarters and warehouse in Sharonville, Ohio.

The project, announced last June, was part of the largest expansion in the dealership’s 36-year history, a growth spurt that continues, according to founder and chairman Chip Woods, 57, who told cincinnati.com that Tire Discounters plans to ad one new store per month “for the next several years.”

Tire Discounters, a member distributor for American Car Care Centers, already operates more than 70 stores in a region stretching from Columbus south to Louisville. That – and an estimated $100 million in sales last year – all came from a single store Woods opened in 1976 while he was still in college.

“We’re thrilled to be here and think this facility will allow us to grow even more,” Woods said. The official ribbon-cutting and open house will be held today, and invitees include local officials and suppliers.

The new headquarters is actually a totally refurbished 200,000-square-foot warehouse that was built 50 years ago as a regional distribution center for Goodyear. Tire Discounters bought the facility for $2.2 million in May and spent another $1.3 million on renovations.
