2011 will go down as the year of natural disasters, as countries around the world suffered any number of weather-related and man-made turmoil. North America had its fair share of
tornadoes, wildfires and winter events.
When severe weather strikes, utility vehicles hustle to restore water and electricity. To help keep fleet utility vehicles up and running, Goodyear introduced the FleetHQ Utility Event Response program.
The tiremaker described it as “a premium, tire-related service that will help utility vehicles receive optimal support from tire dealers during power outages and other emergency situations.”
Operating through FleetHQ’s 24/7 call center, Utility Event Response mobilizes local and national resources to help keep utility vehicles up and running during emergencies, many of which take a harsh toll on tires, according to Bruce Woodruff, director of business solutions marketing.
Under the program, Goodyear’s FleetHQ Solution Center will dispatch tire dealers’ service trucks and technicians to sites that have been impacted by power outages.
Utility Event Response also will offer premium Goodyear tires in the sizes and types necessary for utility vehicles.
In addition, customized event reporting “will help participants make more efficient and effective decisions during times of crisis,” according to Woodruff. “This is a premium service that is exclusively available through FleetHQ.”
