Toyo Tire & Rubber Co. plans to change its accounting period to a straight calendar year period, and will have a nine-month fiscal year in 2012 to accommodate the shift.
Previously, Toyo's fiscal year ran from April 1 to March 31. Under the new plan, which must be ratified by shareholders at the company's annual meeting in June, the fiscal year will follow the Jan. 1-Dec. 31 calendar year.
Anticipating this approval, for 2012, Toyo’s fiscal year will run from April 1 through Dec. 31.
