The California man caught stealing tires from a Temecula, Calif., tire dealer and then putting them in his business van featuring his phone number now faces a long stretch in the big house.
It took a California Superior Court jury less than a day to convict Jeffrey Lewis Yancey, 33, on two counts each of burglary and fraud. He also faces a court hearing Jan. 23 regarding his prior convictions.
Yancey and a woman were arrested in July after a security camera caught them in two separate incidents stealing tires from Big O Tires locations in Temecula and Murietta, Calif. The van they were driving at the time was clearly marked “Jeff’s Tires,” and included Yancey’s cell phone number. When arrested by Murietta police, the van was filled with tires from one of the Big O thefts.
