U.S. Representative Jim Cooper of Tennessee honored Marangoni Tread North America for "outstanding contributions to the economic development of the State of Tennessee."

In the presentation to the company, Rep. Cooper noted the company’s place in the community and congratulated Marangoni for its success. Bill Sweatman, MTNA president and CEO, accepted the honor on the company’s behalf.

In addition, Cathy McKellar, of the Old Hickory Area Chamber of Commerce presented its 2011 Momentum Award to Marangoni. Kellar, in her presentation, said: ”Marangoni Tread is exactly the kind of company we want to attract to our area and are very proud that they chose to build here to have made such a big contribution to our community.”

In 2011, MTNA, located in Madison, Tenn., completed a $10 million plant expansion, adding 42 new jobs at its tread rubber plant.

“We are very happy with our decision to continue to invest here in Middle Tennessee,” said Sweatman. “We chose Middle Tennessee for its location but we made the decision to grow, expand and invest here because of the people.”
