TIA, in conjunction with a number of automotive-related associations, will be participating in the 2012 Aftermarket Legislative Summit on March 14-15 in Washington, D.C.
Ed Gillespie, former chairman of the Republican National Committee, and Terry McAuliffe, former chairman of the Democratic National Committee, will kick-off the summit with a briefing session on March 14, at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill.
TIA Executive Vice President Roy Littlefield said, "This will be a most thought-provoking briefing as the two former national party chairmen discuss the 2012 elections and the current political atmosphere. Then to have a briefing from Lois Greisman, a senior member of the Federal Trade Commission, on the FTC's responsibilities under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act increases the relevance of this program to our members."
A Congressional reception for summit attendees to mingle with legislators and their staffs will be held on the evening of March 14.
On March 15, attendees will spend the day on Capitol Hill in meetings with elected officials and their key staff to learn about the particular challenges of the automotive aftermarket industry.
The Aftermarket Legislative Summit is free to attend, with participants having to pay for their own travel and accommodations. Attendees are requested to register by Feb. 3.
To register, TIA members should contact Mark Cook, director of communications, at 240-544-1265 or at
