Solar energy equipment on the roof of a California warehouse leased by Continental Tire the Americas caught fire on Dec. 30.
No one was injured, and no tires were damaged in the incident, according to reports. When firefighters arrived, the Redland, Calif., warehouse’s 15 employees had evacuated the 500,000-square-foot facility.
According to reports, the solar equipment is owned by Southern California Edison, which leases the space atop the warehouse. The fire damaged a 15x20-foot section of solar panels and some electronic equipment.
