Michelin North America's TCi Tire Centers unit plans to open eight new tire distribution centers in the first quarter of 2012.
The new centers will bring TCi’s total to 86 locations, and will be placed in Atlanta; Chicago; Houston; Long Island, N.Y.; Lubbock, Texas; Richmond, Va.; San Jose, Calif.; and Toledo, Ohio.
“TCi has seen an increased demand from our passenger and light-truck retail customers throughout the U.S., and these markets are part of a growth strategy we have set for 2012,” said Jim Borkey, TCi’s senior vice president of distribution. “Providing our customers with easier access to top quality products and professional service will help them to gain valuable share in these markets.”
TCi’s commercial division services the trucking and OTR tire markets with 68 commercial tire centers throughout the U.S., as well as 10 Michelin Retread Technologies retread plants.
