American Tire Distributors continued its hot streak, posting $1.48 million in third quarter net income, up from a loss of almost $19 million for the same period last year.

Sales for the period jumped 28% to $831 million, ATD reported, thanks to higher selling prices and the addition of new distribution centers.

Sales through the first three quarters of 2011 reached $2.23 billion, up 23% year-over-year, but ATD saw a $586,000 loss through the quarter, compared to a year-over-year loss of $72.6 million.
