Solutions to tire storage range from simple steel racks that hold one set of tires to elaborate vertical carousels that can store more than 100 tires. Choosing the right tire storage solution can reduce shop clutter, improve productivity and enhance worker safety. Portable storage racks on wheels combine the option to display inventory with easy tire transport around the shop.

Tire Rack
The Tire Storage Rack from Tire Rack is engineered to help organize the garage and keep extra tires or tire/wheel assemblies out of the way. The flexible design allows room for today’s performance tire and wheel packages or can be adjusted to accommodate less aggressive tire widths. The adjustable rack quickly attaches to wall studs providing a convenient and safe storage method and its heavy-duty construction has been load tested to a weight capacity of 400 pounds, the maker says.

Tier-Rack Corp.
Tier-Rack's Tire Rack

Whether you store your tires, flat, on tread or laced, Tier-Rack says it can provide a solution that won't break your budget. Tire Racks were the company's original product, and the tire industry continues to be one of its important markets. While the 60-inch x 60-inch rack is still the most popular size, the manufacturer also will make many other sizes to meet specific tire storage needs. Because the company buys steel tubing directly from the tube mills in truckload quantities and has its own skilled teams to transform the steel tubing into portable racks in low-overhead production facilities, the company says it can provide quality tire racks at an affordable price.

Vidir's tire carousel

The Vidir motorized tire carousel uses vertical space to store, organize and access tires for many different applications including warehouse storage, floor display, parts stores, transit companies and dealerships. The tire carousel can store tires up to 44 inches in diameter and allows access to stock safely without climbing ladders or stairways, the manufacturer says. Bringing the tire to working level reduces injuries and risks by letting the machine do the lifting for you, the company adds. The tire carousel offers a small footprint of 15 to 21 feet, and the height of the machine ranges from 12 to 25 feet, allowing for storage capacities from 150 to 410 tires.
