Bridgestone Americas’ passenger and light truck/SUV tire plant in Wilson, N.C., has logged more than one million man-hours of operations without incurring a lost-time accident.
“This is a significant achievement that illustrates how seriously we are committed to safety,” said Bob Walker, Bridgestone vice president of health, safety and industrial hygiene.
“Every day, our employees ensure the highest level of safety for one another in the workplace,” said Jim Pridgen, Wilson plant manager. “This is a tremendous achievement for our team. We will continue to strive for the highest levels of safety for our plants.”
The Wilson plant, which employs 1,800 people, is the eighth Bridgestone Americas facility to surpass the one million man-hour milestone in 2009, making it a record year.
