Kumho Tire USA plans to launch a series of five online videos throughout the summer, the first of which is already available on the tiremaker’s YouTube page.
According to the company, the videos take an “extremely lighthearted approach” to looking at tires, and are intended to be a fun diversion for viewers. Kumho intends to release a new video on its YouTube channel approximately once a month, with the goal of increasing brand recognition by a younger demographic.
“We wanted to bring some fun and energy into the process of looking at tires,” said Rick Brennan, vice president of marketing for Kumho Tire USA. “Purchasing tires is something car and truck owners do only about every two years and it’s usually because they have to, not because it’s something they look forward to. Maybe the people who watch our videos are not looking for tires at the moment, but we’ve at least given them a slice of entertainment they will remember.”
The first Kumho online video released in May depicts a dad pushing his baby in a stroller and then daydreaming about outfitting the stroller with Kumho performance tires and competing on a track against a hot rod. Viewers can expect the next chapter in the baby stroller saga for Kumho’s next video. Jilted lovers and college sports fans will want to check out the remaining videos in the campaign to see what happens on Kumho tires.
