With just two months to go before tire labeling starts appear in the market, The U.K.'s Tyre Industry Federation is offering its advice.

The EU tire labeling regulation comes into effect for tire manufacturers from July 1. From that date, retailers can expect to see certain deliveries of tires arriving with the new “consumer advice” label affixed.

The full impact for retail premises is Nov. 1, when retailers have to pass on this information to consumers. That leaves just six months to prepare for the biggest change in tire retailing for years.

Recognizing the need for information and industry guidance, the Tyre Industry Federation has worked closely with the Department for Transport to provide an authoritative guide to the topic. The result is a concise document available free to download at tyreindustryfederation.co.uk.

TIF Chairman David Seward said, “Once again, TIF is meeting a need for clear information that will contribute to further increasing professionalism within our Industry.” (Tyres & Accessories)
