Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. is the largest business in Northeast Ohio, according to the 2012 Fortune 500 list.
Based on 2011 sales of $22.8 billion, Goodyear is ranked by Fortune as the 126th largest business in the country, up from 139th last year.
Compiled since 1955, the Fortune 500 ranks U.S. companies by sales – specifically, by total revenues for their respective fiscal years. Included in the survey are companies that are incorporated and operate in the U.S. and file financial statements with a government agency.
